TO-DAY'S the end.

There is no more to-morrow.

Now I pay: I cannot borrow

Of a friend.

I must shoulder all my sorrow

To-day, and to the utmost end

What I love defend.

At last, to-day,

It is not any longer

"You must go, for you are younger:

I can stay."

I have heard the Voice that's stronger

Than the other voices say

"It's your turn, to-day."
